24.08.2010 Miner's Village, GlendaloughOn Tuesday 24th August at 7.30pm the Mountain Rescue services were alerted to a possible distress call in the Glendalough Valley. Walkers had heard what sounded like distress calls from the slopes above the Miner’s village – a location from which there have been several incidents in the last few weeks. 28.06.2010 LugnaquillaMonday 28th June four young teenagers from Northern Ireland called for the assistance of the Mountain Rescue service in Wicklow. While participating in the Duke of Edinburgh Award scheme they became disoriented near the summit of Lugnaquillia. 26.06.2010 CorrigasleggaunAt approx 13.50hrs, on the way to Lugnaquillia (Leinster’s highest peak), a hillwalker suffered a lower leg injury on Corrigasleggaun (780m). His group attempted to evacuate him themselves but found that they were unable and called in Mountain Rescue.
