At 15:19 on Friday, July 5th, Dublin & Wicklow Mountain Rescue Team and Glen of Imaal Red Cross Mountain Rescue Team were tasked by An Garda Síochána in a missing person search.
Mountain rescue (MR) personnel immediately began searching the area around the missing person's last known location. Meanwhile, MR search managers worked to produce a search plan for the wider area. Forty trained searchers, four search dog and handler teams, and a drone were used during the operation. Search operations were stood down for the night at 00:19 on Saturday morning.
Later on Saturday morning the teams were alerted by Gardaí that the missing person had been located safe and well.
Our thanks to Search and Rescue Dog Association (Ireland), the missing person's family and friends, and An Garda Síochána for their assistance. We'd also like to thank Bray Retail Park for the use of their car park as rescue base.
